Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5
The Colorist Olle Nordberg
In 1929, Olle Nordberg exhibits at Gummesons konsthall in Stockholm, giving the art enthusiasts of Stockholm all they can handle of naively depicted crofters and timbered farmsteads. The exhibition becomes a success, and over time Nordberg establishes himself as a Swedish modernist to be reckoned with – albeit with a warm eye for contemporary rural life.
At Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5, twelve paintings are now on display, all exactly as Nordbergian as one could wish. In addition, there’s a painting on a rug, as well as a floor clock painted by Nordberg himself! The rug has Chagall-like qualities, and the floor clock is filled with blooming flowers.
