1275. A Chinese Underglaze-Blue and Copper-Red-Decorated Porcelain 'Mythical Beasts' Bowl.

The deep rounded sides rising from a short bulging foot, decorated around the exterior with three different mythical beasts standing atop rocks which rise out of the sea with crashing waves, between the fantastical animals are ribbons of flame, all painted in underglaze-blue and successful copper-red, the recessed base with a six-character mark of Kangxi in underglaze-blue. Period: 19/20th century. Height c. 9.3 cm, diameter c. 19 cm.
