Numisma
This time, Numisma presents a substantial Swedish private collection with a particular focus on coins from antiquity. The collection includes Greek and Roman bronze and silver coins, with several highlights from the Roman Republic. Among these are silver coins minted during the time of Julius Caesar, as well as an earlier didrachm featuring Janus, dating back approximately 2,200 years.
A long succession of Roman emperors is also represented, with both bronze and silver coins. Beyond antiquity, the auction includes a Venetian silver coin from the 11th century, as well as European coins from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
Among the non-European coins, a Mexican 30-peso gold coin from 1946 stands out. Weighing just under 42 grams, it has an estimate of SEK 60,000.
