Stockholms Auktionsverk Presents

The Curated Classics Sale

The Curated Classics Sale brings together art, decorative arts, furniture, silver, and textiles spanning several centuries – from the Baroque of the 17th century to the turn of the 20th century.

Among the highlights of the art department are three important works by John Bauer – the master of fairy-tale imagery and one of Sweden’s most beloved artists. In ”Ut i vida världen” (Out into the Wide World), Prinsessa (Princess), and ”Sjökungens drottning” (Thce Sea King’s Queen), mysticism, nature, and poetic sensibility merge within Bauer’s distinctive visual universe. Also featured are works by Carl Larsson, Carl Fredrik Hill, Helmer Osslund, Lotte Laserstein, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, and Tove Jansson, among others.

The furniture and decorative arts section includes several unique objects, among them a Gustavian cabinet with provenance from Drottningholm and a rare original-painted corner cabinet by Georg Haupt. Also presented are a magnificent cabinet from the reign of King Frederick I, a signed secrétaire by the Rococo master Nils Dahlin, and a rare chest of drawers by Johan Neijber – a work of the highest quality, passed down through generations since the 18th century and formerly part of the Tersmeden collections at Ramnäs Manor.
