Stockholms Auktionsverk presents

The Design Sale

The autumn edition of Sweden’s only dedicated design auction brings together a carefully curated selection of Swedish and international design from the 20th century onwards, from furniture and carpets to glass, silver and jewellery.

The highlight of the sale is Josef Frank’s cabinet ‘Plan de Paris’ for Firma Svenskt Tenn. Dating from the early 1950s, its doors are covered with a hand-coloured facsimile map of Paris in 1550. The cabinet is a unique example within one of Frank’s rarest groups of motifs. Other furniture includes a cabinet upholstered in green velvet by Otto Schulz for Boet, Frits Henningsen’s wingback armchair from 1935, Finn Juhl’s ‘Høvdingestolen’ (the Chieftain Chair) from Niels Vodder’s workshop, Axel Einar Hjorth’s ‘Sportstuga’ cabin furniture and colourful design by the Memphis Group.

The sale also features an enchanting lustre-glazed charger by William De Morgan and eleven glass sculptures from Edvin Öhrström’s private collection. Alongside these are carpets by Märta Måås-Fjetterström and Barbro Nilsson, as well as silver and jewellery by Georg Jensen, Wiwen Nilsson and Björn Weckström, among others.
