The father of taxonomy, Carl Linnaeus, set a record at The Rare Books, Maps & Manuscripts Sale. A letter to the German physician and botanist Christian Gottlieb Ludwig, dated 22 January 1737, sold for SEK 1,875,000 – the highest price ever achieved for a Swedish letter at auction in Sweden.
