The Modern Art Sale
The Modern Art Sale presents Swedish and international modern art from the early 20th century onwards. One of the highlights of the autumn is Sigrid Hjertén’s “Badscen (Badstranden och skuggan)” (“Bathing Scene (The Beach and the Shadow)”) from 1918, which was included in the Expressionist Exhibition at Liljevalchs konsthall that same year.
The sale also includes the Anna-Stina Malmborg & Gunnar Höglund Collection, one of Sweden’s most significant private collections of Swedish and international post-war art. The collection comprises works by artists such as Antony Gormley, Claes Oldenburg, Niki de Saint Phalle, Martial Raysse, Christo, Antoni Tàpies and Alighiero Boetti. The Swedish artists include Torsten Andersson, Lars Englund, Marie-Louise Ekman and Andreas Eriksson.
