These works, each separate, are usually bound together. They are in fact printed by Steucker at the Hague, and included in the Elzevier catalogue of 1677. This is the original printing of which there is a very inferior reprint of the same date.
Bassompierre (1579-1646) , supported Maria of Medici and opposed cardinal Richelieu. As Marshal of France he fought at La Rochelle, and played an important role as arch-diplomat negotiating with the Swiss and connived at the Court of Madrid. His books give a vivid picture of the early 17th century history of Europe during the Thirty Years´ War.
Christian Martin Dorn (active about 1660-1670), studied in Lüneburg, Leipzig and Heidelberg , jurist.
