Contemporary black morocco over bevelled wooden boards, worn, joints reinforced, gilt borders, title in gold on upper cover, cover pastedowns of marbled paper within gilt borders (one loose), all edges gilt. Dedication on first free endpaper: "Presented to Columbia college by the author". Loose in binding, in two parts and some leaves loose. Title with offsetting from frontispiece. Bookplate of Columbia library with withdrawal stamps and with old library stamps on title. With library note paper pasted at the end.
