Later half calf, with richly floral gilt spine in six compartments. Partly spotted and dampstained, last pages with minor damages and minor losses, last page mounted with text loss. With signature on title page in brown ink, and erased stamp and pencil notes on verso of front.

First edition.
Dionis was the chief surgeon, professor of anatomy and chirurgy at Jardin Royal Hospital, in Paris.
