Contemporary brown half leather, somewhat worn, slightly faded gilt spines, marbled edges. Some foxing and spotting. Library annotation and duplicate stamp on first endpapers, signature of Magnus Fries. 2 volumes.
Nissen 1743, Pritzel 8105. First edition. Vol. I is also the 2nd ed. of "Die Pflanzenstelle...", first published in Berlin 1852 (see Pritzel 8100).
Provenance: Collecta Friesia. Elias Fries (1794-1878), famous Swedish mycologist and botanist. His most important work was "Systema mycologicum" published in 1821-32, Thore M. Fries (1832-1913), Robert Fries (1876-1966), Magnus Fries (1917-1987), Robert Fries (b. 1952).
