Dennis Hopper (1936-2010) was an American actor, filmmaker and artist. With a reputation for being difficult, he found few work offers to sustain himself in the film business and began photographing in earnest. His motives vary from icons of popular culture to politics, the civil rights movement, nature and everyday life, and capture vividly a dynamic phase in Western/American history.
