The Scottsboro case concerned the accusation of 9 black american boys of having raped a white woman on a train in Alabama in 1931. During the trials a series of racially motivated incidents occurred, e. g. lynch mobs, biased jurys, civil protests and so forth.
Guy Endore (1901-1970), was the nom de plume of Samuel Goldstein (also known as Harry Relis), an American novelist and screenwriter, most famous for his "The Werewolf of Paris" (1933). He was also a political activist, with deeply felt concerns over American racial inequalities in culture and legal systems.
