4to. 317 x 250 mm. X pp. 120 sepia-toned monochrome photographic plates. Publisher´s half calf with gilt spine and blue paper boards. Front board with soot stains, somewhat skewed, top leather corner missing.
120 photographs, ordered after nationalities/ethnic origins. Represented are photographers such as Henry Buergel Goodwin, E. O. Hoppé, Karl Schenker, Jozsef Pécsi and others.
Provenance: Nils G. Ahlin (Ulriksfors, Sweden, owned the largest private book collection in north of Sweden, about 6000 volumes).
Erik Hallqvist, Östersund (born 1887, the grandfather of the current owner), had a bookshop since 1907. He bought Ahlin´s collection in 1942 and was interviewed in Östersund-Posten on January 28: "The public may have an idea of the size of the collection, when I mention that I needed 14 fully loaded taxis to get the books home".
